description Bucharest is situated in the Southern area of Romania, on Baragan Plain, at about half distance between the Danube and the chain of the Southern Carpathians, being crossed by two rivers:Dambovita and Colentina. The yearly average temperature in Bucharest is -2.5 C in January and 22.5 C in July. The measurement site (National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology) is located at about 10 km distance from the centre of the town.
